How this site handles your data
Short version: this site measures visits with Google Analytics. It is on by default, it is never used for advertising, and you can turn it off at any time — at which point the cookies involved are deleted.
Who is responsible
The data controller for this website is Janus heilsuefling, which operates the NordicActAge initiative. Questions about this policy, or about data held about you, go to ragnar@janusheilsuefling.is.
What is collected
Only website analytics. There is no account system, no newsletter signup and no advertising on this site. If you email one of the addresses listed on the site, we hold that correspondence in order to reply to it.
Google Analytics 4 records:
- which pages you view, and when
- approximate location, derived from your IP address at country/region level
- device, browser, operating system and screen size
- how you arrived — search engine, direct, or a referring link
- a randomly generated identifier that recognises a returning browser
Google Analytics 4 does not store your full IP address. We do not collect your name, email or any other directly identifying information through analytics, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Legal basis
Legitimate interests — Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. We have an interest in understanding how this site is used so we can improve it, and we have limited the processing accordingly: no advertising signals, no profiling, no data sold or shared for anyone else's purposes. Analytics is enabled by default. You can object at any time by turning it off with the Cookie settings link in the footer, which also deletes the cookies described below.

The two naa- entries are strictly necessary to honour choices
you have made and are not used for tracking. The _ga cookies
are set from your first visit and are deleted if you turn analytics off.
Who else sees it
Analytics data is processed by Google Ireland Limited as our processor, and may be transferred to Google servers outside the EEA under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. Advertising features and data sharing for advertising purposes are switched off. We do not sell data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard server request data in order to deliver the pages. Fonts are served from this website rather than from a third-party font CDN, so loading the page does not disclose your visit to a font provider.
How long it is kept
Analytics records are retained for 14 months, after which Google deletes them automatically. Aggregate reporting, which cannot be traced to a browser, may be kept longer.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may:
- turn analytics off at any time, using the Cookie settings link in the footer
- ask what data is held about you, and get a copy
- ask for it to be corrected or erased
- object to or restrict processing
- complain to your national supervisory authority
In Iceland that authority is Persónuvernd. If you are in another Nordic country, you may complain to your own national data protection authority instead.
You can also block analytics entirely with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by declining on this site.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the notice on the site will be shown again so you can review your choice. This page was last revised when analytics moved from opt-in to opt-out.
